The Ohio Women in Emergency Medicine Leadership Conference

Batavia , OH US
April 9, 2019

Join us for a half day of inspiring and engaging discussion as we tackle topics on how successful women physicians have navigated through their careers, and how men and women alike play a crucial role in their success.

We invite you to join our speakers, who have a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, as we discuss topics related to biases, and work towards creating a supportive, healthy and aspirational environment for women in emergency medicine.

Share your success with others.
Women physicians supporting each other.

Women are still struggling to get to the top in medicine. Currently, only 15% of Emergency Department Chairs are women and less than 25% are Division Chiefs. Countless publications have shared root cause analyses, and it is clear that challenges from biases, penalties, and organizational cultures share a role in these troublesome statistics. Further, women need to have the motivation, confidence, and support to pursue leadership roles.

This highly interactive program will connect senior and junior emergency physicians fostering networking and mentoring.  Faculty will share how their experiences, challenges, and choices allowed them to advance in leadership roles. We will also explore how well the medical community has encouraged inclusion of ideas, personal, and professional growth for women today.
