Learning Objectives
- Enhanced Proficiency in High-Acuity, Low-Occurrence (HALO) Procedures
- Participants will develop hands-on expertise in performing critical emergency procedures such as resuscitative thoracotomy, perimortem cesarean delivery, and surgical airways through simulation-based training.
- Improved Decision-Making in Time-Sensitive Emergencies
- Learners will refine their ability to rapidly assess when and how to perform HALO procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in high-pressure situations.
- Effective Team-Based Crisis Management and Communication
- Through high-fidelity simulations, participants will strengthen their ability to coordinate resuscitations, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams during emergency interventions.
- Sustainable Skill Retention and Continued Competency Development
- Attendees will leave with an understanding of ongoing skill maintenance strategies, including simulation-based refresher training, procedural checklists, and evidence-based updates to HALO protocols.
