This two day 'hands on" course will provide full day of procedural instruction / practice in the cadaver lab and a full day ultrasound and airway instruction / practice.  Each participant will demonstrate proficiency in each of the following procedures:

 
Cadaver Lab:  
Endotracheal intubation
Surgical airway management
Needle thoracostomy
Chest tube thoracostomy
Central venous access
Lumbar puncture
Arthrocentesis
Intra-osseous cannulation
Wound care: I&D abscesses, suture repair
Peripheral nerve blocks (facial, rib, wrist, ankle, femoral)
 
Non-Cadaver Lab
Ultrasound Techniques, including vascular access, peripheral nerve blocks, and FAST exams for physicians – taught by EMsono
 
Airway station with manikin intubation using adult and pediatric models, demonstration of airway adjuncts (King Vision, Glidescope, LMA, Combitube I-gel, SALT)
 
EZ-IO demonstration station

 

PREREQUISITE:  

Participants must have successfully completed all 10 on-line EM Skills and Procedures modules as prerequisites for attending the lab.

CANCELLATION POLICY:  

Cancellations must be made in writing to CEME at ceme@ceme.org. Refunds, less a $100 processing fee, are provided if cancellation occurs more than 45 days in advance of the course. Cancellations received between 10 and 45 days incur a $500 charge. No refunds available for cancellation within 10 days of the course date. ue to planning and budgetary requirements, there are no refunds 30 days prior to the course.
