KEVIN KLAUER, DO, FACEP - COURSE DIRECTOR
Kevin Klauer is Director of Center for Emergency Medical Education (CEME) and Director of Quality and Clinical Education for Emergency Medicine Physicians. He is Assistant Clinical Professor at OUCOM and MSUCOM, Chairman for the national ACEP Finance Committee and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Emergency Physicians Monthly magazine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and practices emergency medicine.

ROBERT BLANKENSHIP, MD, FACEP
Robert Blankenship, MD, FACEP board certified emergency physician. He did his emergency medicine residency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. During his 11 years of active duty he served as an Emergency Medicine Assistant Residency Director, Ultrasound Director, and the Transitional Year Program Director at Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Blankenship also developed the Army's First Tactical Ultrasound Course in 2007 after returning from Iraq where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service with 1-66 Armor, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood Texas. Dr. Blankenship currently is the Medical Director of St Vincent Medical Center Northeast and the Ultrasound Director of St Vincent Emergency Physicians.


MICHAEL FRANK, MD, JD, FACEP, FCLM
Michael Frank is General Counsel and Director of Risk Management for Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) and Emergency Physicians Medical Group (EPMG). He is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and practices emergency medicine, while devoting most of his professional efforts to the management of the legal affairs of EMP & EPMG. He is a member of numerous medical and legal professional societies.

ELLIOT S. NIPOMNICK, MD, FACEP
Elliot S. Nipomnick, MD, FACEP Elliot Nipomnick is in the full-time practice of emergency medicine as well as serving on the Board of Directors and as the California Coastal Regional Medical Director for Emergency Physicians Medical Group. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the President of the Alameda Contra Costa County Emergency Physicians Association, and serves as Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California and Lumetra.

B. JOSHUA RUBIN, MD, FACEP
Josh Rubin is President of Emergency Medicine Physicians – Western Region, a management services organization providing administrative services to the west coast emergency departments staffed by Emergency Physicians Medical Group. He is a diplomate of both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

GHAZALA SHARIEFF, MD, FACEP, FAAP, FAAEM
Ghazala Sharieff is the Medical Director of the San Diego Rady Children’s Hospital Emergency Care Center and the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Palomar-Pomerado Health System. She holds an Associate Clinical Professor appointment with Children’s Hospital and Health Center at the University of California, San Diego. She is a diplomate of both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

DAVID SLATTERY, MD, FACEP
David Slattery, MD, FACEP, FAAEM is the Assistant Professor and residency Research Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also serves as the EMS Medical Director for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and provides medical oversight for several casino AED programs. His research interests include sudden cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndromes, and EMS-related topics. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

JOHNN TRAUTWEIN, MD, MBA
Johnn Trautwein is Site Director and Director of Pediatric Quality Improvement for St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Siena Campus Pediatric Emergency Department. He is Director of Pediatric Emergency Medical Services for the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics for the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

SHARI J. WELCH, MD, FACEP
Shari Welch served as the ED Quality Improvement Director at LDS Hospital for ten years. She has been on the faculty at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and is a regular speaker at ACEP’s Scientific Assembly. She is currently a practicing emergency physician and a researcher at Intermountain Healthcare, focusing on ED operations research. She has written two books, numerous journal articles and a monthly column for the widely read Emergency Medicine News.
